Choir singing has never been more popular than it is today. It’s a great way to unleash your hidden talents and inner feelings and display them to the world through music. Singing as part of a small community gives people a sense of belonging and transports them into a different world where the pressures of everyday life can be forgotten for a while.
By sharing the gift of singing, not only can it change the lives of the people in a choir, meeting new friends who share a love for music, but it also has the amazing power to change the lives of those who enjoy listening to the beautiful sounds of the human voice.
WHAT’S NEW
A brand new Village Community Choir is set to be launched in Hazel Grove in January 2012 following on from the huge success of the Marple and Heald Green Village Community Choirs launched in September 2011. The new choir will meet for its first term on Mondays at 8.00pm from 9th January 2012 at the Hazel Grove Civic Hall, London Road, Hazel Grove, SK7 4DF.
The Marple Village Community Choir will meet for their second term on Wednesdays at 8.00pm from 4th January 2012 at the Senior Citizens Hall, Memorial Park, Marple, SK6 6BA and the Heald Green Village Community Choir will meet on Tuesday mornings at 10.00am from 3rd January 2012 at St Catherine’s Church, Outwood Road, Heald Green, SK8 3JQ.
These choirs will be following on from the huge success of the Bramhall Village Community Choir which launched in September 2010. Since that time the choir has grown in numbers and performed for the public at a number of different events in the local area. All the Village Community Choirs will be learning the same songs and arrangements which will enable them to join together for events to create one big community choir.
It’s a great way to meet new people and share a love of singing which is really good for keeping healthy. Both singers and non-singers of all ages and experience are welcome to join any of our choirs. The Bramhall Village Community Choir will be commencing its next term on Wednesday 4th January 2012 at 8.15pm at Bramhall Methodist Church, Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall, Cheshire. The Friday sessions will be commencing at 2.00pm on 6th January at the same venue.
